Why preserve roads?

Constant exposure to sunlight, varying temperatures and changing weather conditions all play their part in the deterioration of a road. These exposures oxidises the asphalt pavement, causing its bitumen binder to become brittle and reducing its resistance to cracking.

Pavement preservation involves the addition of specialty additives and oils that regenerate and rebalance the existing surface to near its original properties, increasing the life of the road.
